How the Press Release Process Works
Step 1: Initial Contact
Email your QNX representative or PR contact as early as possible. Include the planned announcement date and a short summary of the news.
Step 2: Submit Draft Materials
Please provide:
- A full draft of the press release in an editable format
- Background context on the announcement
- Details of the QNX technology being referenced
- Your proposed headline, subhead, and quote(s)
Providing a first draft and proposed quotes helps accelerate the review process.
Step 3: PR & Legal Review
QNX will review the release for:
- Technical accuracy
- Proper terminology
- Brand consistency
- Compliance and legal approval
We may suggest edits to ensure our involvement is represented factually and appropriately, mirroring guidance such as avoiding overstated terms like “strategic partnership” unless contractually defined.
Step 4: Final Approval
Once revisions are complete, QNX will provide written approval for publication. Both parties must approve the final text before any external distribution.
Step 5: Publication & Promotion
You may distribute the announcement through your press channels once approval is confirmed. Please share final links with us for internal tracking and possible amplification.
Editorial Guidelines
How to Reference QNX
- Keep the focus of the announcement on your company’s news, with QNX positioned as the enabling technology
- Describe QNX’s role clearly and accurately
- Only use QNX product names exactly as provided by our team
Language & Positioning
Avoid overstating collaboration. Do not use unapproved terms such as “strategic partnership,” “alliance,” or “endorsement,” unless formally agreed. Instead, terms like “collaborated,” “integrated with,” or “working together” are appropriate.
Branding
- Do not include QNX’s press contacts, boilerplate, logo, or stock information without explicit approval
- Do not reuse QNX quotes in future materials unless re‑approved
Quote Guidelines
QNX may provide a spokesperson quote depending on timing, news relevance, and approval cycles. To support this:
- Your release must include a quote from your own executive first
- Provide a draft quote for the QNX team to refine an approach
- Keep quotes benefit driven and not overly technical‑driven, not overly technical
