Course Synopsis

An overview of the QNX OS architecture, covering what the microkernel architecture is and how it compares to monolithic operating systems such as Linux. We explain what a process manager does and the standards, protected address spaces, process/thread model, timing, and scheduling. We also introduce various types of IPC, synchronization, and what a resource manager is.
